Six months ago I knew nothing about Turkey other than that I wanted to see the ancient sites of Istanbul. I am writing this review to share some of what I learned in the hope that others can also have as enjoyable a trip as I had. Our group consisted of me, my wife and our daughter and her boyfriend. We were interested in seeing the cultural and historic sites in and outside Istanbul. Frommers guidebook was a good start, and we decided to rent an apartment in Sultanahmet, Istanbul for the first week of our stay. The apartment was located behind the Blue Mosque, and was a short walk to Ayasofya, Topkapi Palace and all the other sites in the ancient city.

The harder part of planning our trip was the second week: how could we decide where to visit, how long to spend, and which hotels to stay in? Would it be possible to combine a visit to the famous coastal sites as well as to Cappadocia in the January climate. I searched TripAdvisor and read the reviews of several Turkish travel agents, including Veni Vidi Travel. I contacted three of them, but received a prompt response only from Veni Vidi. The owner, Bulent Albayrak, took my initial sketch of interests and responded with a customized tour that gave us all the sites we wanted to see and more: Pergamon, Asklepion, Ephesus, Pamakkule, Perge, Aspendos, Side, Konya, and Cappadocia. We very much liked the itinerary because it gave us two or three nights in each of three hotels in vastly different parts of the country. The hotels were in Kusadaci, Antalya, and Cappadocia. More on the hotels later. Bulent arranged for three separate regional tour guides who each met us at prearranged transfer points and all of whom spoke fine English. We appreciated the different perspectives from the different guides, and what they brought to the travel experience. But in addition to the planning, Bulent's dedication to excellence came to the fore once we arrived in Turkey. He provided us with a complimentary tranfer from the airport, and took the four of us to dinner the first night we arrived! He speaks American accented English and has a great sense of humor so is a lot of fun to be with. He lent us a cell phone to use while we were on tour, in case there were any problems to resolve, and although we didn't actually use it to call him, it was reassuring to have it. We loved the sights and smells of the Spice Market, fresh fish across the Galata Bridge at an open air restuarant, Ayasofya, and Topkapi.

Outside of Istanbul, two of the hotels were of particular note: The Alp Pasa in the historic section of Antalya, and the Gamirasu Cave Hotel in Cappadocia. Both places were exceptional and ideal bases for exporing the surrounding areas. I could go on in greater detail, but everyone needs to make their own discoveries. We had a wonderful stay of two weeks in beautiful, friendly Turkey, and recommend Veni Vidi Travel to anyone who wants a personalized travel experience.

Our short holiday in Turkey was brilliant, I can't thank you enough for putting it all together for us. The hotels, travel arrangements and food were all excellent and my family and I really had a wonderful time. Turkey is such a clean and beautiful country, the people are so friendly and courteous. The package you have arranged for us was definitely worth ever penny and I dare say we denifinetly got more than what we bargain for. I will definitely recommend your services to anyone who wishes to visit Turkey and I of course will surely use your services again for our Greece Tour next year. I made it back to Baghdad without incident and on time.  I wanted to take a moment and write you to tell you what a wonderful time I had on my vacation trip to Istanbul, Turkey.  Everything was splendid. 
 
I searched the internet to find a reputable travel agent when I was planning my trip to Istanbul. I was fortunate because I found the perfect travel agency with the ideal travel agent in Veni Vidi Travel and you to assist and represent me. My hotel, The Rast Hotel, was comfortable, clean, and well located. The staff there was more than accommodating. The four tours you arranged for me were informative, fun, and exciting. They were complete in every way to include an excellent lunch. No tour was over-crowded and the guides were friendly, reputable, and knowledgeable. I especially enjoyed my day trip to Ephesus. It was a full day but I never felt rushed. It was pleasant getting out of the city and seeing the Turkish countryside along with the ancient city of Ephesus. On my free days in Istanbul I found much to occupy my time and interest me, which was facilitated by the hotel staff and the excellent location of the Rast Hotel along with your recommendations.  
 
I had a great time with no mishaps. I know this is largely because of the attention to detail you gave in preparing my itinerary. Your care for me during my visit was reassuring, as well. I highly and fully recommend you and Veni Vidi Travel to anyone and everyone planning a trip to Turkey. 
 
It was a pleasure meeting you, Filiz. Thank you for helping me to have a marvelous one week vacation in Istanbul and Ephesus, Turkey. Rest assured that when I return, I will give you a call first to assist me in putting together another awesome holiday package.

It was a very nice trip for me, and I was especially impressed by all the hotels arranged for me --- nice and convenient without being excessive; and also by all the smooth transitions, the ground transportation as well as flights between tours.
