Meteora & Monasteries Tour (02 Days)

The Metéora ("suspended rocks", "suspended in the air" or "in the heavens above") is one of the largest and most important complex of monasteries in Greece, second only to Mount Athos.

The Tholos at the sanctuary of Athena Pronaia in Delphi, Greece, was a circular building constructed between 380 and 360 BC.

Run: Every Wednesday (04th April to 02nd November)

DAY 01 – Meteora
Departure from Athens and transfer through the towns of Thebes, Livadia (may have a quick stop) and Arachova to Delphi, known in ancient times as the navel of the world. One and a half hours aprox at leisure at Delphi to stroll the picturesque village, enjoy the breathtaking scenery from the slopes of mount Parnassus till Itea, take pictures and enjoy a " Greek Coffee" or follow the guide to guide you at the Delphi Site and Museum (Entrance fee is not included). In the afternoon departure through Central Greece and the cities of Lamia (may have a quick stop), Trikala to Kalambaka, a small town built at the foot of the majestic grey rocks, and crowded by the Meteora Monasteries. Overnight stay in Kalambaka (Meteora).

DAY 02 – Meteora
Visit to Meteora enjoying a unique and most impressive scenery of ageless monasteries, containing priceless historical and religious treasures, standing between Earth and Sky atop huge rocks. Return to Athens passing by the monument of Leonidas at Thermopylae. Arriving in Athens early evening.

* Ladies for the Visit of the Meteora Monasteries need to have a Skirt and Gentlemen long Trousers
